We were inspired. Now, we want to inspire too, says Edgar Ang of Singapore Management University.

Project Pangarap is an overseas community project led by a team of aspiring individuals  from Singapore Management University (SMU) that want to be part of Gawad Kalinga’s mission. Gawad Kalinga is a non-profit organization focused on poverty eradication and community building.
Last December 2012, 24 students from Singapore Management University recently went to the Philippines to participate in the Overseas Community Service Project that aims to alleviate inequality and poverty in Philippines.
ACP donated various Microsoft Office books to Gawad Kalinga’s Project Pangarap. The books donated by ACP were used in planning and carrying out a 3 day Microsoft Office workshop for 120 teenagers. This has made knowledge more accessible to the villagers and also empowered them with more confidence in the use of computers. Parallel to this, the children were excited about the software and immediately learned to design their own Word documents and presentations after the lessons. With the help of these books, computer lessons were conducted easily and smoothly.
As a whole, Project Pangarap was able to help the community in the Philippines and also educate and spread the vision of Gawad Kalinga to the youth in Singapore.
Project Pangarap’s next venture to the Philippines is scheduled for December 2013. At ACP, we hope that our partnership with Project Pangarap further helps those in need and help improve the educational structure of humanity.
Congratulations to the SMU Team! Job well done!
